About the Studio
My name is Ahmed Abdelhamid. I am the founder of Wooden Dream Studio, a small design and woodworking studio based in Denmark. I was born in Sudan and came to Denmark with a clear intention: to learn, to build, and to contribute something meaningful through design and craft.
My background as a Technical Designer and CAD Constructor shaped my respect for precision, structure, and materials. Later, my studies in Product Development & Innovation at SDU refined my approach — balancing function, form, and process. A serious illness eventually forced me to slow down, rethink my pace, and reconsider what meaningful work looked like. With the support of my family, I found my way back to making.
Wooden Dream Studio began with a need to create something tangible — work shaped by hand and guided by intention. Wood became the natural medium. Its texture, scent, and variation demand patience and attention, rewarding care rather than speed.
The studio’s first piece, the MONA Chair, was named after my daughter, who arrived as the studio itself was taking shape. Since then, the work has grown through quiet hours, trial and refinement, and a commitment to honest materials and lasting design.
Every piece from Wooden Dream Studio reflects that journey — made in small numbers, shaped by hand, and built to be used, lived with, and kept.
