The Story Behind the Studio

I’m Ahmed Abdelhamid, the founding designer behind Wooden Dream Studio. Born in Sudan and now based in Denmark, I work at the intersection of industrial design and handcraft. My training as an industrial designer, technical designer and CAD constructor shapes how I approach every project: with a focus on precision, structure and carefully chosen materials.

A serious illness became a turning point. It slowed life down and made me question what meaningful work should feel like. The answer brought me back to making things by hand. Wooden Dream Studio began as a need to create tangible work – furniture and objects shaped slowly, with intention.

Our first piece, the MONA Chair, is named after my daughter, who arrived as the studio itself was being born. Since then, every piece from Wooden Dream Studio has followed the same path: made in small batches, crafted by hand and designed to be lived with for years.
